Loona teaches high school students (ages 14–18) to build and ship real products using AI. Our website is buildloona.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it — especially for our student users who are minors.

Information We Collect

When you create an account or apply to a program, we may collect:

• Account information: your name, email address, and password.
• Student details: school name, grade level, and date of birth.
• Parent/guardian information: name, email, and phone number (for consent and communication).
• Application content: essays, short answers, and other materials you submit when applying to programs.
• Payment information: processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card number on our servers.

Why We Collect It

• To create and manage your account.
• To process program applications and enrollment.
• To process payments for paid programs.
• To communicate with you and your parent/guardian about programs, updates, and important notices.
• To improve our programs and website.

Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted services to run our platform:

• Stripe — to securely process payments. Stripe has its own privacy policy.
• Resend — to send transactional emails (e.g., verification emails, application updates).
• Vercel — to host our website.
• Google — for optional sign-in via Google OAuth.

We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not share your data with advertisers.

Data & Minors

Because our programs serve students ages 14–18, we take extra care with your data:

• We require parental or guardian consent before collecting personal information from students under 18.
• We do not sell or rent any student data.
• We do not serve targeted advertising or use student data for marketing purposes.
• We collect only the information necessary to run our programs.
• Parents or guardians may contact us at any time to review, update, or request deletion of their child's data.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies. Our site uses a session cookie to keep you logged in (JWT authentication). We do not use tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or third-party advertising cookies.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. You (or your parent/guardian) can request account deletion at any time by contacting us at hello@buildloona.com. When you request deletion, we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days.
